For those in an established, exclusive relationship are you Facebook friends with each other?

Does it seem strange to you if a couple aren't?

Would you think they had something to hide?

Yes they are hiding something if you aren't friends on fb. Lessons learnt here

Marineboy67 · 09/04/2023 10:09

Yes...nothing to hide there!

I have a Facebook account in a pseudonym that I use for one specific purpose . Husband of 30 years is not friends with me on there , there would be no point as I don’t post anything on it . Visa Versa he has an account to keep in contact with a couple of family members. Nothing to hide , just no point , and it wouldn’t help the pseudonym account remaining anonymous if I added him anyway !

Whether we like it or not Facebook can and is used for devious reasons. Snooping, stalking and messaging, online abuse etc. Having your current partner or wife/husband as Facebook friends doesn't really guarantee anything when people are creating multiple accounts like the previous poster.
I only have people that I know outside of Facebook on my friends list and certainly don't keep 'exes' on there as quite a few people do.

I’m not quite sure if you were referring to me , but I don’t have multiple facebooks accounts , as I don’t actually use it personally. The pseudonym account is related to an old business connection.

Been with my partner over 30 years but we aren't friends on Facebook 🤷‍♀️.
I use it to keep in touch with people I don't physically see in person but I see partner daily so we do that old fashioned thing of chatting and stuff 🤣 so we don't really need to be friends on Facebook.

This is what my DP says too.
To be honest it's never bothered me until a mutual friend commented on it. I hadn't given it any thought before now but I'm now wondering if he's ashamed

I do think it's a bit odd. Yes you can still chat but if you are the type to share stuff wouldn't it be stuff that both sides of the family are interested in? My DP and I tag each other in stuff if we have been out and think family would like to see pictures for example.
