😫
One parent died very recently and the other I’ve been estranged from for decades, with very good reasons.
I thought I’d be the bigger person and inform them of their death, and also enquire if they would fulfil agreement made during their divorce about joint life insurance.
First contact for years was, show me the exact clauses in their will and I deny you permission to fulfil their express wishes and legacies. If you don’t, I will deny you access to another bond the deceased had forgotten the other was still named on.
I am so tired of their games.
But it is a lot of money, in 6 figures, that could go some way towards the bills and taxes I have to pay.
Should I suck it up and attempt to be cordial to someone I completely despise, or let them continue and allow them to steal essentially from my recently deceased parent and me?
