Elite singles anyone?

After disastrous results over three years of singledom and online dating I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with more "elite" paid sites such as elite singles ?

I dont want to just pay and sign up if it's the same faces as the free sites

I tried match.com and had the same faces coming up as on tinder , pof, bumble etc .

Has anyone tried elite singles ? With any success?

Thanks

I’d be interested to hear responses to this

I joined it a year ago and ended up having a 7 month relationship which ended in January unfortunately, but that was nothing to do with the site. I found the guys on there to be more serious about finding a long term partner rather than getting their egos stroked with endless messaging as they need to pay. It sorts out the serious contenders from the dross. Just keep an eye on the direct debit rules because they will keep taking money out of your account unless you pro-actively go into your profile and cancel. Good luck !

I used a site called eliterencontres, in France, don't know if it's the same. Seemed very pour tbh. I had one man with a failed bank card on a trip to Greece, then contacted me again with same photos, same message about his job, different name, place, then a third time. Reported, but absolutely no reaction from them. Was a paying site.

Bumping ! Anyone ?

It's expensive so I'm loathe to sign up if it's a shite as the freebies

I’m interested in this as i’m going to dip my toe into online dating this weekend. I was thinking that surely it would be better for a paid site? How much is it, and what if you found someone great in week 1, are you committed to paying for a certain period?

VirginiaQ · 30/03/2023 06:16

Oddly I signed up for Elite Singles even though the price seemed extortionate (nearly £100 for a month and no option for less). I was lured in as some had actually messaged me.

Anyway despite having written a detailed bio the message just said 'Good morning' and had been sent at 3am. No one really sparked my interest and despite having lots of visitors only had a couple of 'smiles'. Anyway I found in the small print that if you cancel within 14 days (really easy to do. You just send an email saying you no longer wish to withdraw from the contract). I got all my money back within 24 hrs.

As a PP you need to keep an eye on the direct debit in any case. It automatically auto renews if you don't cancel.

Night and day compared to free sites. Happily married with Three children to DH, we met on Elite Singles!

Dancemonkee · 30/03/2023 06:22

I enjoyed the quantity over quality volume game of tinder. It helped be form a stronger view of what i did and didn't want.

I met my partner on Bumble.

Are you in a small place? Or a big place? They can't just magic up new single men. Maybe you could adjust your filters to slightly further away, slightly older/younger?

DorisParchment · 30/03/2023 06:27

A friend of mine met his now wife on Elite Singles! They both thought it was good, and met other nice people before meeting each other. You’re less likely to get 60something men looking for a 30something woman to shag on there, I think it’s more serious relationship territory.

Theonlywayisup1 · 30/03/2023 06:34

I thought elite singles was rubbish. The quality of men on there was dire imo. I didn’t fancy a single one and found it a total waste of money.

SybilWrites · 30/03/2023 06:37

I tried it and it was rubbish! I had one date with someone and very few matches (because there was hardly anyone fanciable on there). There didn't seem to be many men in my area (and I live in a big city). I also did get tricked into paying for an extra month.

honestly, I've had the best experience with free tinder.

Binky100 · 30/03/2023 08:24

I met my husband through Elite Singles. It was a much better experience than PoF and Match.

AnyaMarx · 30/03/2023 11:59

Gosh - very mixed reviews ! It's a lot of money ....
Seems it's marmite . Love it or hate it .

I'm on the free sites but just a shag fest it appears - all people really seem to want is hook ups (I'm in my 50s now ) the men are sleazy cf"s .
My age parameters are set from 45 to 60 and seriously- it's slim pickings.

I paid for match and that was no better .

I don't have money to throw away but just thought maybe with elite there may be more men who are serious about a longer term connection , in paid employment, not just wanting a shag but if not it's expensive.

I was on both Match and EliteSingles, definitely a better experience on Elite. I noticed a few guys on both but I think Elite tends to attract people who are more serious about a proper relationship than Match. Match was just awful.

Justlovecandles · 15/04/2023 17:12

Bumping this as I’m also thinking about joining Elite.
just finished my 6 month Match membership and only had 1 date!

FlosCampi · 15/04/2023 17:19

I made some nice male friends on it, but it was by no means all educated professionals, which I had assumed. There were the usual " how's you?" opening messages, photos with hats and sunglasses and giant fish, "sensual sapiophiles" etc. Extraordinarily some men sent dick pics as soon as they had my number.

worriedmummy1234 · 01/06/2024 15:34

Sorry to reply to an old thread but DID you have any luck? I have just made a fortune to join for a month and there is no one there - I have removed all my parameters and it's made hardly any difference! No-one wants me 😢🤣
