Surprise for husband.

I have the most wonderful, loving, caring husband best father to my two boys. Our lives are busy but I want to get him a surprise, just to say: I see what you do every day and I love you even more for it.

He is very frugal and spends little money on himself despite us having good jobs.

He likes: football, golf, (most sport in general), plays poker every now and then, classical music, he does like nice clothes but tends to only get them from me and his family for Christmas and birthday (thinks it's too expensive but enjoys it when given to him). We do like to travel but since having kids, it's not been too much.

Anything you got your husband lately and they were chuffed/happy? X

This is so sweet! I know it sounds basic but my other half loves malteasers and beer so every now and again I get him a bag and beers. It doesn’t need to be expensive just getting the token. I’m so cringy I’d also write a cute little love note too 😂

@Navigatingthroughlife Mike does too! No it's basic but so good!! Thank you xx

I might get him some brew dogs as he doesn't always buy them but likes them xx

Or if you wanted to splash out the cash a bit more have a look on love holidays they do really cheap weekend breaks!

Might jump on your bandwagon and do the same thing tomorrow! X

@Navigatingthroughlife it's really hard, two DCs 1&4, another on the way, so it might just be the beer and Maltesers lol

My DH loves sports, particularly golf so you could get him maybe a new golf towel, a glove or some new golf tees? He always loves little things like this and it’s a good way to say he should go out and play when he’s next able to! (now the weather is getting better!) xx

Oh well congratulations on the growing family! The malteasers and beer can’t go wrong to be fair! X

A bit cheesy, 'worlds best dad' mug. OH got one from the girls when they were little (alright he guessed I bought it) he loved it. Silly but simple things.

He'd get chocolate sometimes but often as not the girls would be waiting for their share so he ended up with next to none.

Get him a small hamper and fill it with his favourite drinks and snacks to make it a bit more special.

Tickets for a gig / show / comedy night.
Take him out for a meal.

If babysitting is an issue maybe cook him a fancy meal at home once the kids have gone to bed.

If he loves golf you could get him a new hat to wear. Not sure how many he already has but he may well appreciate another.

SeaToSki · 21/03/2023 16:10

A picture of the dc in a frame for his desk, if you want to go cheesy buy a frame that says worlds best Dad, or we love you Dad

I know this is an older thread and you’ve probably already given him something by now, but my husband has very occasionally written me some gorgeous words in a lovely card and posted it to me when I’m going through a hard time.

It’s a surprise because you don’t really expect it via post, and it’s lovely because I’ve been able to keep them.
