Why do I feel so sad

I've been seeing someone for 10 months. I'm really happy when I'm with him. I spend every other weekend with him and a couple of nights each week (when he doesn't have his kids I'm there). But whenever I drop him to work or leave his house I feel really down and sad.

It's only ever a few days til I see him again but I can't help but feel really sad/down

I just don't feel like this is normal

I think this can actually be a good thing -- it's a sign that you like him (love him?), want to spend time with him and miss him when he's not around. Surely if you felt relieved every time you left him that would be a more worrying sign! As long as it isn't debilitating, I think it just means you're with someone who makes you happy.

Thank you everyone, the way you've explained it makes me feel less odd and that perhaps I'm not crazy!

I agree.

I couldn't wait to see my bf, then my fiancee, and after that my DH of 17.5 years.

I am still the same with him and miss him so much if we ever have to be apart (usually rarely & for a short time of a maximum of up to 1 week).

After we had our son 16 years ago in April (he was with me during my labour), I missed my DH very much in the hospital though I only stayed there for 3 nights and was so much looking forward to be picked up with our son to go home:).
