Hi everyone, I need some advice. I dated my boyfriend for six months. He dumped me in a very bad way (that’s a whole other story and not one for today)
Anyway, I called my friend and discussed my relationship and she says she believes he was emotionally abusing me. I don’t like to throw that word around as I know it is very serious. But I was just curious as to what you all think. Here are a few things he said.
- He called me unclassy if I didn’t do my hair nicely
-He called me disgusting when I threw up once on his floor. I was very ill.
- He called me a drunk when I had a few drinks
- He constantly told me to not embarrass myself
- He let other men oggle me without saying anything
- Always told me how stunning he found other girls
- He constantly pushed my hand down his underwear in bed and when I pulled back, he pushed it back again
- He never believed me when I told him I couldn’t have sex because I was heavy on my period.
- Never bought a present for my birthday etc..
There is a lot more. And putting it down, I realise it does look bad, but I believe he was being sarcastic when he said most of these things and said them in banter. He was lovely all the other times. Its just these little comments he always used to say. It is properly worth mentioning he was my first proper relationship. I just assumed this was normal and what all men do. I am aware my love for him maybe clouding my judgement.
