Meeting him this weekend

I've been chatting with a guy online for about a year. Didn't meet on a dating site of anything, we actually met through a facebook group about a shared interest. We live at opposite sides of the country, but meeting in person this weekend for the first time. I'm nervous as hell, no idea why! He seems lovely to chat with and we've spoke on the phone a few times, as well as Facetimed. So we can be sure about each other's identities. His social media all checks out fine too and I'm checked his employer's website - he's definitely mentioned on there.
I guess I'm nervous as I find him quite attractive and he's said similar about me. Haven't been able to sleep this week, stomach tied in knots with the nerves about finally meeting haha. Any advice? Claire xx

What's your fear? What would be the horribl-est outcome?

I met my now boyfriend this way. We’d been Facebook friends for years (through a mutual friend). Our first date was great. I think the months of messaging meant that we had got to know one another so kind of knew what to expect. I remember being really nervous that we might not get on so well in reality but we did. My advice would be just to relax and enjoy it. Good luck!

Aww..it's always nerve-wracking meeting for the first time, but it sounds as though he's perfectly genuine. Just go and have a fab time and if you don't then you don't need to see him again. Good luck! x

You’re excited bc you fancy him, it’s normal. I’m sure if you’ve been talking for that long you’ll get on just as well in real life - great that you have a shared hobby.

Just relax and enjoy it, he’s probably nervous too remember. Have a great weekend!
