Advice - Ex’s brother

Hi there,

So I dated a guy for a year. Very casual. Mostly due to it being long distance and his substance abuse problem but also because no real connection. Would have finished sooner if we’d lived in the same city. He often wasn’t entirely honest either - see substance abuse above. Finished 2 years ago. Still have a friendship and chat regularly.

Whilst we were dating I met his brother and I was instantly attracted to him. He’s a completely different guy. We have much more in common. I think about him a lot. A few months later I finished it and I deliberately kept out his way on purpose but that could be easily rectified. Should I go there? If I do, how do I handle it?

I personally wouldn’t go there. There’s a lot of men in the world. You don’t need to go for ex’s family members. It could destroy their relationship too

That’s the thing. There isn’t much of a relationship there. If anything when he was with me the relationship between them improved. It’s now reverted. He was paranoid about me meeting the brother from the start. He thought we’d have a lot in common and hit it off. How right he was.
