Why did he do this?

My guy friend who is married and I were talking face-to-face. I noticed that when I had pushed my hair back to get it out of my face, he had closed his eyes for a long moment and then opened them again while he was talking to me. Why did he do that?

I think the real question is - Why are you reading so much into stuff that probably doesn't mean anything?

I mean if you really need a reason though- imo when I see a fringe falling into someone's eyes, sometimes I might do what he did. Or brush my face too. It's simple empathising with the annoyance of having hair in your eyes.

Lampan · 18/02/2023 17:39

Maybe his eyes felt dry or irritated

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 18/02/2023 18:04

Cat hair under his contacts.

Glofish57 · 18/02/2023 18:36

He has also called me baby in the recent past.

Maybe he was worried you were going to flick your hair in his eyes or ...

maybe he was envisioning leaving his wife, setting up home with you and going for evening horse rides with you firmly clasping his waist whilst you ride into the sunset on a secluded beach, with your hair trailing in the wind.

Maybe not, meanwhile back in reality.

Pinkbonbon · 18/02/2023 18:57

As in 'stop acting like a baby' perhaps?

Stay away from this married man if you think there's any chance he fancies you. Or you him. It's not rocket science.

You have full , thick, healthy hair. He calls you babe, he fancies you.

Wishimaywishimight · 18/02/2023 20:49

How do people even notice these things? There was a thread recently where the OP had noticed a man positioning his body toward her 😁

Clearly the required response is; "He is clearly desperately in love and in lust with you, you are obviously deeply desirable / sexually attractive" so there ye go OP.

Alternatively, maybe you were boring him and he nodded off for a few seconds.

Zanatdy · 18/02/2023 20:52

He probably fancies you, stay well clear

SomeareDeluded · 18/02/2023 20:53

You were boring him?

OP, please, all you want to hear from us, is he fancies you. Just wake up and smell the coffee. Do you really want to get involved with a married man?

WidthofaLine · 18/02/2023 21:10

Maybe you have bad breath, you know that overwhelming nausea that makes your saliva buds go crazy and you need to close your eyes to make it pass.

Yes I bet that's it.
Make an appointment at the dentist if other men start doing it.

SunflowerTed · 18/02/2023 21:19

maybe he finds your desperate flirting insufferable?

Stiginthedump · 18/02/2023 21:43

Actually I think closing your eyes, in body language terms, is like putting up a barrier. Maybe you did something, i dunno, sexy?, and he tried to not react to it? Didn't want to see. I would guess he is conflicted but who knows. Leave the poor chap alone
