Where did the missing shoes go?

Here's a conundrum if anyone wants to play detective.

Husband, wife, and two teenage children keep some of their shoes in a cupboard by the front door. Other shoes are kept in the bottom of each person's wardrobe.

One day, DD opens the cupboard to put on her shoes for school but they're not there. They're not in her wardrobe either. They have somehow vanished. She had worn them at some point during the previous week and is convinced she left them in the cupboard. But she hadn't been attending school every day because she was sitting exams and the school had given its students time off to study. Mum searches everywhere in the house, including emptying everything out of the bottom of each wardrobe, and they're nowhere.

A few weeks later, DD discovers them in the bottom of her wardrobe, thrown in by the looks of it.

No pets in the house.

What would be your first thought?

Sibling took them.

Were changed out of and left in car and husband throws them in cupboard.

Sibling takes them by mistake or deliberately

DD finds them elsewhere and is too embarrassed to admit it

Husband took them for his mistress to borrow.

Owner of shoes left them lying around. Father threw them in wrong teenage room. On discovery disgusted teenager threw them in owner's cupboard.

Could be paranormal though

The shoes walked into the wardrobe by themselves after been fed up being stuck, in the dark, under a bed.

She found them and then put them in her wardrobe, why does it matter?

Swalewhale · 30/01/2023 17:02

They were in her PE bag?

Pinkbonbon · 30/01/2023 17:03

They were in the wardrobe all along. But because they were thrown in, they were difficult to find. Probably behind something else. Then something was moved in the wardrobe that moved them in turn, making them more visible.

They were there all along but she didn’t look properly.

she’s found them somewhere else and threw them in there and pretended to find them there.

in my experience, teenage girl scattiness is at play.
