40th Birthday Idea of Hell

Hey everyone

My OH has booked Blackpool for my 40th birthday and a couple of shows for us to go and see. Problem is its my idea of hell . I like taking the kids to Blackpool but couldn't think of a worse place to spend my 40th. When we were chatting about it about 6 weeks ago he was talking about a weekend abroad.

No. Tell him what you'd really like to do instead.

Not at all. If you don't want to spend your birthday there that's how you feel so let him know and discuss alternatives. He can't know unless you tell him.

Oh dear 🙈 no I wouldnt want to go to Blackpool either!
I think you just need to be honest with him...problem is if hes already purchased tickets for shows then he wont be able to get a refund. In which case maybe you can book a really nice hotel somewhere out of Blackpool centre and travel in for the shows??

I don’t blame you at all. I guess he thinks you like Blackpool. Is it refundable what he’s booked?
