Getting over a relationship re the utterly heartbroken thread

This time last year I remember being moved by the women on the 'utterly heartbroken' thread (about women whose partners had ended the relationship). The postings of sadness and disorientation were palpable.

If any of those posters are still around, would love to hear how you are feeling one year on. They say it takes roughly a month for every year of a relationship to get over it?

I had my engagement called off by my ex fiancé after 10 years together, by text, and found out my wedding had been cancelled by an email from my caterers, never had any closure and was told for months he wanted to give it another go, all whilst he was living with his new partner after 4 weeks…to say I was heartbroken was an understatement! I had to go into AD, have therapy, pick myself up and soldier on, I was 36. 10 months on, I managed to keep our amazing house, make my life 10 times better, have met the most perfect gorgeous man and feel like the world is my oyster and I had a very lucky escape from a nasty piece of work! I honestly couldn’t see that I’d ever be happy again, but here I am, beaming from ear to ear…and he is miserable!
