Genuinely curious as using them myself at the moment and struggling with the quality of men on them. Are paid sites better and if so what ones? Thanks in advance. I’m early 40s if that makes a difference. Hear loads of people w hi have met online but don’t say what sites they used.

Just about to move in with my boyfriend, who was a tinder match from mid 2021. I'm late 30s him mid 40s, both with a history but he's my forever I feel.

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 10/01/2023 19:56

Gaydargirls 😁

MercuryRising · 10/01/2023 19:58

Facebook dating - very happy and together for 18 months.

QueenAstrid · 10/01/2023 19:58

Bumble

I’m mid 40’s. Met lots of quality men on there.

Penguinsaregreat · 10/01/2023 19:59

Plenty of Fish.

Best for me was hinge
it’s quality over quantity compared to Tinder
its free

Agree with this. Also agree with POF being full of potato men as stated below 🤣🤣

Nat4819 · 10/01/2023 20:01

Met my DH on Happn in 2019. We were both mid-30s.

calmholly · 10/01/2023 20:01

Tinder, married 8 years now.

Hadtochangeforthisone · 10/01/2023 20:11

Illicit liaisons. 2005 Married 15 years.

PermanentTemporary · 10/01/2023 20:15

Ourtime, because I was 50 and wanted to be the hot youthful option on the site 😄

I liked Hinge though. Had some good chats on there. I also met some nice people on [cough] adultfriendfinder.

Im in my 50's

Tinder is ok and not a hook up site. Dire men can't message you. But even if you swipe left, they pop up again. Beware the rogue 2345 miles away men. Despite your search criteria, if a man has liked you, he will show up, no matter how far away he is

Bumble is ok, but the man at least has to have something interesting on his profile to send him a message about. If you swipe left, they are never to be seen again.

Hinge, I find no-one sends a message and you have to really. But the sound messages are amusing at times.

POF - has scammers and catfish, but it is useful to have if you sit incognito in the background to double check someone. It gives more information. Men who you would never entertain can message you if you are not hidden.

Badoo - I didn't find anyone nice this time. But did once find a LDR a few years ago. They have a lot of profiles on from men who died years ago. I found 3 once. I'm good at background checks!

Overall, I'd try every one of them. The same men are on most. Bumble is my preferred choice. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.

I forgot facebook dating! Full of men who have lost the will to live, but are still trying hard....but not on their looks!

youhavenoidea123 · 10/01/2023 20:23

Bumble

StewPots · 10/01/2023 20:25

Tinder 😁

Me late 30s, him mid-40s, neither of us were at the time looking for a relationship or anything remotely serious. Was literally in it for the hook up…. And now here we are 3 years later!

Newtrix · 10/01/2023 20:28

We met on POF 10 years ago this year at 27 & 29. Married for 4 years and still head over heels for each other.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 10/01/2023 20:30

Dateline mid 30s. Turned out we lived a few minutes drive from each other. There was a special offer on too!

xfan · 10/01/2023 20:32

Lots of men on all the sites who appear to be fatigued by the dating culture....it really depends on how low your bar is to be blunt.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 10/01/2023 20:39

POF about 5yrs ago (he's not a potato man though 😄).

My brother met his wife on Bumble.

Eatentoomanyroses · 10/01/2023 20:43

Match 6 years ago.

Suzi89 · 10/01/2023 20:46

Plenty of Fish almost ten years ago 😅 before Tinder existed.

Oysterbabe · 10/01/2023 20:47

Match.

SareBear87 · 10/01/2023 20:48

Tinder in 2019 - I was early 30's
I specifically said I wasn't interested in hookups so that help sort the wheat from the chaff!

GrilledSneeze · 10/01/2023 20:49

Dateline

This was almost 30 years ago now. Paid for 6 months membership.

YuleLog22 · 10/01/2023 21:23

Tinder - late 40’s still together 18 months on and he’s lovely 🥰

TragicMuse · 10/01/2023 21:49

We met on Love and Friends 17 years ago, I was nearly 41, he was 44. We've been married 17 years this year.

It looks really different to how it was back then so I can't vouch for it now. But it was good when we used it.
