Name in message sent to me

My boyfriend will send me a message saying 'Hello Angel'. Today his message said 'Good morning Angela'. I replied back who is Angela? 🤔😂. He replied to the rest of the message but did not acknowledge that. Is it possible it was a predictive text change from Angel to Angela or he speaks to someone called Angela? He does manage a club with members and a committee so has contact with lots of people. He is loyal and adores me but it has caused a sick feeling in my stomach.

Of course it's a typo. It'd be a bit different if he'd said "Good Morning, Jean", but it's clearly a typing error from the name he usually calls you. It'd be a hell of a coincidence if he happened to be having an affair with someone whose name is one letter different to his pet name for tou

ClawedButler · 10/01/2023 12:19

Sounds like an autocorrect. Why not just ask him instead of creating multiple scenarios in your head?

maddy68 · 10/01/2023 12:19

Of course it's a typo. Jeez how paranoid?

maddy68 · 10/01/2023 12:20

Sorry pressed send too early. Mine does things like that all the time I wouldn't worry at all

Chickenvoicesinmyhead · 10/01/2023 12:21

Typo/autocorrect! You have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Flapjackquack · 10/01/2023 12:22

Of course it’s an autocorrect. My phone changes DH’s name to a completely different name for some reason. Luckily we just find it funny and joke about Steve, my bit on the side.

Jointhecircus · 10/01/2023 12:22

He hasn’t addressed it because he thinks it obvious it’s a typo and that you think so too because you’ve a laughing emoji. Try not to worry!

thirdtimeluckyorwhat · 10/01/2023 12:24

You are unhinged

Fuckstix · 10/01/2023 12:30

Probably just autocorrect. He probably thought your comment was a joke and didn't need a response

twoshedsjackson · 10/01/2023 13:19

During my teaching days, part of the job was typing up reports; my computer did many annoying autocorrects, but the one which sticks in my mind is that one perfectly charming young gentleman was not Haroon, but Harpoon!
Unless something else feels "off", I'd say relax....

dnaconundrum · 10/01/2023 13:25

i would say a typo. But then I overanalyse and when I type Angel, Angela doesn’t come up as a prediction, even typing angela (lower case) comes backs with “angels” as a correction.

but tbh I don’t know anyone under 40 called Angela

Tuilpmouse · 10/01/2023 13:25

If 'Angel' is a usual term of endearment, then it's almost certainly an autocorrect. He probably didn't mention it in this reply as it was blindingly obvious and thought you were joking!

In the highly unlikely event that he is also seeing an Angela (which is a pretty unusual name these days) then he would have responded to reassure you...

gretti · 10/01/2023 13:59

My name rhymes with Ben. My mum ALWAYS texts me with

Hi Ken/Kenny - sometimes changed to kennel.
Hi Hen
Hi Penny - one changed to Penelope

Absolutely autocorrect. So easily done

Tennisplayers · 10/01/2023 14:12

He has a Samsung the same as me and when I typed in Angel, Angela does come up 😬

I don’t know why but “Good morning Jean” made me snort with laughter 😁

OP, YABVU. Surely this is a typo.

This also made me laugh. 😂

HappyNewYear2023 · 10/01/2023 14:33

A typo. Easily done.

Bollindger · 10/01/2023 14:45

Please Make this your in joke. it was the phone not him, but please don't go OTT on this.

AllOfThemWitches · 10/01/2023 14:48

I'm an anxious mess but even I would laugh this one off.

Leafblow · 10/01/2023 14:49

Definitely autocorrect,
I have done it the other way round and texted my colleague Babs 'good afternoon babe'

Blowyourowntrumpet · 10/01/2023 15:30

If he'd put Good Morning Bernard, then you might have something to worry about. You're being ridiculous

user06221 · 10/01/2023 22:30

I'm 99% sure it's just a typo since he normally calls you Angel. And he hasn't responded to "who's Angela?" because he probably thought you knew it was a typo and that you were teasing him by asking that. I wouldn't worry about it.

PrimitivePerson · 28/07/2023 20:04

I just typed "ang" on my phone and it came up with Angela straight away, and not Angel.

runningonberocca · 28/07/2023 21:16

I sent a text to a work colleague called Fatema and it came up as “ Hi Fat man” . Don’t know her very well so it was a bit 😳
