Once your marriage was over (not that amicable) what have you done with your engagement and wedding ring??

I’ve kept mine in a jewellery box, you never know when I may need to cash them in

Amsooverthis · 07/01/2023 20:14

What stops you from just cashing them in now?

I sold mine. I loved my engagement ring but I knew I’d never wear it again (DV marriage) so sold them

Interesting to read this thread.

I'm at the start of divorce and wondered if I should offer them back to him? Not that I think he'd take them but should I ask?

Oopsiedaisyy · 07/01/2023 20:25

Kept my engagement ring for my daughter to wear when she's older

fajitaaaa · 07/01/2023 20:25

If kids involved keep them for them otherwise sell

shieldmaiden7 · 07/01/2023 20:48

I moved house and left them in the old property 😳😬

They are rainy day money, and it’s not raining!

JorisBonson · 07/01/2023 21:40

I dramatically threw mine into a canal 🤦🏻‍♀️

sunshinealwayscomesback · 07/01/2023 22:18

I cashed mine in and bought some nice useful things with the money.

Chasingsquirrels · 07/01/2023 22:27

I love both my wedding rings.
I'll probably never wear the 1st again, but would never get rid of it.

2nd (he died) I probably will, I wore it on my wedding finger until covid - when staying at home I didn't bother with jewellery and didn't start wearing again after. I was going to gave it resized for my other hand before covid, but when I took it to the jewellers I just couldn't. I probably could now.

With my ex-h (DV relationship) I went to the pawn shop and then used the money (around £40) to take the kids out for the day.
It was cathartic and allowed me to enjoy some time with my children when I couldn't afford it otherwise.
