WWYD? New partner smokes, told him I don’t like it and could he brush teeth in morning before we kiss and he won’t, said I’ve offended him?

Basically all in the title. Boyfriend of less than a year. He smokes regularly. Doesn’t brush teeth going to bed and in morning then tries to kiss/initiate sex and I just hate the taste. He got offended and said I’ve made him some like he’s rotten. Sometimes it’s worse than others e.g if he has been drinking night before and smoking more. When I get up in morning I always brush my teeth

Only brushing your teeth once a day is disgusting, particularly if he’s doing it in the morning and then getting into bed at night with all the accumulated gunk of a day’s eating and drinking still in his teeth. That alone would make his breath horrible first thing, but if you add fags into the mix it must be bad enough to kill a horse 🤮. And if his teeth aren’t already rotting, they soon will be.

So he literally CBA to bother with basic personal hygiene as a courtesy to you, but he’s happy to put pressure on you to suck up his ashtray breath and the contents of his molars to save his poor hurt feelings? He sounds like a prince.

If he can't give you enough respect to merely brush his teeth at night, you can't expect any other positives from this relationship. Basic hygiene, basic respect for your partner, it's not hard. He doesn't deserve a kiss from anyone. Absolutely disgusting. My dh is like this. He brushes once a week. And he wonders why I avoid him as much as humanly possible? Separation is coming this year. These men know this is not normal, and therefore they're disrespectful nobs. Or, they don't realise that it's not normal, and are utter idiots who will never get any sex ever again.

Well it's your choice put up or leave

I can't bear bad breath and a smoker is even worse. Bin him!
