There are currently two threads about SILs, is the cause of the tension is it jealousy on the SIL part ? Because that’s a bit creepy.

I think it is in some cases. My sister experienced this, the SIL wanted her brother to be at her beckon call and when he got a gf (my DSIS) he wasn't always available so she didn't like it one bit. Pathetic really but it certainly happens.

Why would the jealousy be on the SIL's part necessarily?

I mean all humans and their relationships are different.
