Deciding to not give a present

Hello

Im coming for some advice.

My husbands 40th was yesterday and my auntie text a few weeks ago asking what sort of voucher he'd like.

I asked my husband for ideas and then responded to my auntie with some ideas.

He never received a voucher. Apparently my aunties (collectively) have now decided not to give presents to other halves.

Not sure what to say to my husband and he must be wondering where their card/voucher is.

He never expects anything, but if you tell someone you are going to get them something - surely follow through? It's a bit disrespectful to not even message me and explain the situation!

Perhaps things are tight and they can't now spare the money.

The aunties are probably embarassed that they even asked.

A card and good wishes or a phone call would be kind though.

Nothing you can do.

It's best to tell your husband so that he is sure things are not lost in the (Christmas/strike) post.

You say to him,

"I've spoken to auntie and she has told me that all aunties have decided that they are not buying birthday gifts for partners anymore, so thats why the voucher hasn't arrived."

Hes 40.
I'm sure he'll cope.
