I would appreciate if anyone had the time to read my post below:

Forced to invite in-laws who hate us ?! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/4697676-forced-to-invite-in-laws-who-hate-us

Does anyone know of any self help book to help me deal with this? Someone on the above thread mentioned the relationship board would be so helpful. Thank you x

Don't invite them.
The End

That's the only book you need.

Thanks @JaneJeffer it was more a bit wider than the on going issue with the party but I'll try and have a Google

What sort of book are you looking for - something to help you emotionally tolerate the situation? or something to help you set the boundary and keep it?

For the former I recommend looking into Grey Rock technique.

For the latter, I can't think of specific books but there are lots of tips. Primarily if you're going to set boundaries with difficult family members, don't expect it to magically stop the people's behaviour. Don't expect that you won't be guilt-tripped or shit-talked. The boundary is about you being clear about what you will and won't put up with or do.

THis is a great tool for weighing up whether and how firmly to say 'no'.play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.minow.dbt.dime&hl=en_AU&gl=US&pli=1
