How to handle this

We've invited a group of about 10 family and friends to ours for Christmas Eve dinner.

I was hoping to have numbers fairly soon so I can shop and plan how much to cook etc.

Sent invites last week by text, and so far I have had 4 responses- no one else has replied.

If it were you would you chase people up or just assume they are not keen and plan for 4 guests?

Send another email.. repeating the details... replies by 12 noon on Saturday as you will be shopping after that... if they do not reply you will take it they are unable to attend.

That's rude. I don't like going out on Christmas Eve but I would at least reply

That's how I feel but I also feel a bit embarrassed! Just wondering if I'm over reacting

This. And how nice of you to invite them!
