Hi,

About 5 days ago I bumped into my ex in the street whilst I was out shopping. Little did I know he followed me as I was walking home.

He slapped me with full force in an alleyway near my home and it has left a huge mark on my face. He won't leave Mr alone, he turns up everywhere and messages me constantly. I reported the assault to the police but they say there's nothing they are willing to do.

I'm now terrified to leave my house and I just don't know what to do anymore. I feel so low and afraid.

Are you safe now OP? Can a friend stay with you? This sounds awful but I don’t know how mumsnet can help.

Newusernameaug · 10/12/2022 02:24

I’d be heading back to the police and kicking up a fuss, they absolutely should and could be doing more, this is awful. Sorry 💐

You need to go back to the police. This is assault, and a crime.

When you reported it initially did the police give you a log number?

Do you have some real life support OP?

Not immediate help but Shelagh Fogerty has a powerful podcast about stalking with suggestions and help:

You deserve immediate help, I hope you get it.

Go back to the police station, demand help otherwise you will go to the newspaper. X

Second and third going back to police, make a complaint to the supervisor of the officer who took your statement.

Can’t do anything my arse, this is assault and harassment at a minimum, and you need a non mol order.

Call Women’s Aid, they will help you.

Report again to the police and complain if necessary x
