Best OLD sites

I’ve been single for coming up two years and would like up meet someone or at least go on some dates.

I’ve never done any online dating so have no idea what the best sites are. I’m 40 and live in Scotland. I had a look on match but there didn’t seem to be anyone interesting close by. I would like a serious relationship but understand I’ll probably have to kiss a few frogs.

I don’t think there is a ‘best’ in terms of the quality of the men so I judge the sites on ease of use. Tinder and plenty of fish has free messaging and a lot of people are on there. I also found match to be limited in my particular area and you couldn’t read messages without paying.

I use Tinder, Bumble and OKCupid. I don't pay for any of them. Tinder probably has most in terms of numbers. Bumble - they can't message you until you've messaged them. OKCupid - I don't like the interface, but have had quite a bit of interest off it, so haven't deleted it.

I was briefly on match, but hated the app, so deleted it after about a day. Sometimes I think of trying Hinge and PoF just to compare and contrast, but as I don't have time for any dating this side of Christmas,it's certainly not happening any time soon.

In my area, all the men I've met of hinge have been seriously strange/messed up.
Which is a shame because the app lends itself to a more interesting profile.

Other than that, all the apps seem to work the same, it's a complete lottery if you find someone you like.

Just to add, I think the only people who pay for the apps are the cheats/married as that allows you to be incognito, shame when your swiping you don't know who pays or not, would let you know who to avoid!

I like Hinge, the profile prompts mean people you match with have something to start a conversation about!
