She wants to explore

Me and my gf recently broke up, we still keep in touch but she does not want a relationship anymore.
We sometimes go on secret dates - secret as in nobody needs to know - and we sometimes have sex at my place.

We are both in Uni, and the reason for her not wanting a relationship is because she says she enjoys the freedom and not having to give explanations to anyone, even though I have never told her what or not to do.

We are still in love, sex is great, but we study in different places and we only see eachother during the weekends, and the tension is killing me.
Friends told me to be patient and give it my best shot.

What should I do?

I think you're being used, which is not nice when you're still in love.

If you enjoy just keeping it casual then carry on but it does not sound to me like she wants to get back together, so don't hold out hope.

Do whatever you want. She has made it crystal clear as to what she wants for herself, so you either take it or leave it. Don't be foolish enough to think that she will want an exclusive relationship with you.

Go out and meet some new people.

Uni is a drag being tied down to one person.

She's going out and enjoying herself. You should too.

I think you should stop dating and having sex with her, you’re going to get hurt. Leave her to explore, you do the same and maybe one day you’ll find your way back to each other.

Have a break from her for a while and then see how you feel.

She has broken it off but now is using you for a bit of extra sex.

Find someone who loves you instead, or at least doesn't mess with you/hurt you.

Your friends’ advice is naive. It makes sense to explore when you’re young but that doesn’t mean she gets to keep you on the back burner and take you out to play with when it suits her. She’s using you and telling you what you want to hear to keep you sweet. If she was in love with you, she wouldn’t risk your relationship in this way. And you won’t get over her while this is going on. Stop making yourself available to her. Start meeting other people. It hurts hugely but you will get over her in time.
