Random phone number stored

DH went to dial DC's number on his new apple car play and there were two numbers listed. I wasn't actually looking at the screen but he said 'oh I've still got DC's old number listed as well'! I looked in time to see the last three digits and it definitely wasn't DC's old number.
What would be your next move?

Nothing? I have all sorts of random numbers in my phone. Including random dads from school, the guy who ran the food truck in the next village over from our old house, the number of a horse transporter I’d contacted about trailering my horse somewhere, and by the looks of it, someone named Sergio. No bloody idea who he is, but I think possibly the guy I needed to collect the keys for at an Airbnb in Barcelona from a trip in 2018. 😂

There must be more to this if you are suspicious? This alone is nothing. Why don't you trust him?

noteverso · 26/11/2022 12:10

He has two numbers stored under the contact details for DC. He's actively told me that the second number is DC's old number but I know that it isn't the old number.

It's a tenous link to anything, but if you can get access on his phone, you could see if the number appears in his recent calls list.
If there are no other signs at all of cheating, you could alternatively get counselling for your insecurities as it's a very vague clue to anything.

Well, I oddly have someone else’s number stored under my own name in my phone. 😂 So I wouldn’t think too much of that. I mean thinking sensibly, if someone was going to have an affair with someone, I wouldn’t try to hide their number under the same contact as one of my dc because it’s be pretty risky to mix them up and send a racy text to one of your teens by accident.

justabigdisco · 26/11/2022 13:30

I find it odd that he was at pains to say that to you when you weren’t even looking at the screen. Protesting too much…

jelly79 · 26/11/2022 13:37

Did you just say 'that's not DCs number?'

notforme · 26/11/2022 13:57

Ask him? Tell him its bothered you. Ask for the number and do with it what you will.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 26/11/2022 15:57

If it helps my own phone number is saved in my own phone as 'mum mobile'. Maybe your dh is as scatty as me.

LondonQueen · 26/11/2022 16:31

Are you sure it was stored under DC's name and he wasn't on the call log on carplay? I have all sorts of random numbers on there!

noteverso · 26/11/2022 17:55

I'm 100% sure that the number was saved under DC contact. On an iPhone you can have different numbers for the same contact.
I was pretty sure at the time that the previous number didn't end with those last three digits so I checked and it wasnt the number.
I wouldn't even have noticed if he hadn't said anything. I don't know why he said anything.
There's no point me asking him about it because he's already said what he thinks it is.
