Are you very similar to your partner or “chalk & cheese”?

We are TOTALLY opposite.
Was ok.
Now it’s lonely 20 years on.

What about you?

Very similar. Same values, same outlook, similar introverted personalities. Happily together 34 years now.

Forgot to say, very similar upbringing even though we are different nationalities and different religions. We just gel, I suppose.

Sorry you are feeling lonely, OP.

We're similar in some ways (values/beliefs etc) and different in others (he's more extroverted and I'm more introverted and we had different upbringings). We have some interests in common but also have our own things we do by ourselves or with friends. I think we have a good balance of similarities and differences to keep it interesting.

garlictwist · 22/11/2022 03:03

On paper very different. He's 9 years younger than me, working class, very practical. I'm older, middle class, bookish and quiet. But we've been together eleven years and get on very well somehow!

Opposite. I can totally see it being lonely in the future

Shoxfordian · 22/11/2022 05:23

We’re similar in the ways it matters for a relationship to function well but I’m more extroverted than him; and he’s more analytical - we like some similar things but also have separate interests
