i was told by a man that as I am pretty how can I be single. I sai its not all about looks Men just do not chat me up or ask me out. I think its my personality

Men not chatting you up says nothing about your personality. If they don't talk to you how do they know what it's like?
Plus, the guy who said that to you was using one of the most common chat up lines right there!

You took him literally. He wasn't asking a serious question. He wasn't unsure about why you were single. He was trying to give you a compliment and tell you he thought you had potential for dating/relationships.

I mean, tbf there aren't many places that men 'chat women up' these days. Unless you're in a
nightclub and they're trying to take you home.

I doubt it's any issue with you. More likely you're just not in a place where its socially acceptable to chat people up very often.

Also I don't agree with the posters saying he was chatting you up. Saying "you're pretty, why are you still single?' isn't a compliment - it's negging.
