Where to live?

I’m newly divorced with DC in primary. We’ve lived in Yorkshire for ten years, having moved for work. Now I’m on my own with the kids (abusive ex so
minimal genuine interest ) I can’t decide whether to stay around here - I have some lovely mum friends but no one really close - or move us back closer to my closest friends in the Midlands, I could afford to go half way, due to house prices.

I won’t do anything until DC are due to move to secondary, but I’m thinking beyond that - when they fly the nest I’d like to be settled and not have to move again.

I just can’t decide whether to continue making our lives here, or start a new chapter somewhere else - we were supposed to be living the dream but XH behaviour ruined that…school options are decent in both places, everyone on here says DC will make new friends at secondary anyway…but I’m going round in circles!!

anyone else been in this situation ?

I would move before they get to secondary (depending how long that is) so they don't face the upheaval of both changing to secondary and moving at the same time.
