Struggling with online dating

I am late 30s so there’s not many options - and yes I am picky to a certain degree. But I see that as having standards rather than a limitation.

I match with quite a few men, most stop engaging, or don’t reply. A few have been REALLY keen to meet then drop off. My girlfriend has been on a few dates and no follow up.

We are on Bumble and Hinge.

It all seems very low effort and like no one is really bothering ?

it’s making me feel sad and hopeless.

and I struggle to meet men in real life.

is there anything else I can be doing?

Can you and your girlfriend go out in real life together? Then at least you get the enjoyment of an evening/day out even if nothing else more comes if it.

Could there be a common reason why they stop engaging? Im thinking are your responses to their messages giving off the right vibe? Replying with short, vague answers with little interest in asking questions or continuing the conversation will come across as hard work, cold and not interested and maybe put men off if that's what's happening .

DosCervezas Good questions to ask but I’d say I’m pretty engaging. It’s the men who aren’t engaging, drop off etc.

Get off the apps and get out into real life. Form a pattern of going somewhere regular at a regular time and chat to familiar faces and go from there
