Questioning my boyfriend’s integrity

My boyfriend is friends with his cousin’s bf.

They went out to have a few drinks at a bar with their other friends and eventually went to a nightclub. His cousin then asked about what happened that night and where they were, he lied to her about not going to the nightclub because his friend asked him to.

His cousin’s bf was caught hugging and being way too cozy with another girl, he told me that he doesn’t remember seeing this happening as he was drunk and was nodding off at their table that night.

What I’m disappointed about is that he chose to lie to his cousin about not going to the nightclub to cover for his friend which makes me question his integrity. I am now confused and don’t know what to do.

I don't see why you'd do anything.

Probably trying to keep out of other people's drama.

I think everyone needs to do a bit of growing up.

Much like OP should do in this instance.

I understand the 'If he will lie to his own cousin to protect the (possibly cheating) pal then would he lie to me?' Feeling.

But I finishing your post my first thought was 'tbf, I'd lie to keep out of that hullshit drama too'.

But then...I would have said that I wasnt there. Not that he wasn't. Or is that what he did say?
In which case, fine.
