Long hair v short hair

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 24/10/2022 01:24

I haven't even done a name change so
this is me.

I've decided to grow my hair and it's growing lovely and healthy and in the best conditionGrin I can't find a chef kiss emoji so. Anyway I digress. My husband has now decided he prefers my hair short 🤮. Im not emotionally ready but he keeps saying I should cut it.

Im actually stubborn so we are staying like this, but im bored and wanted opinions on long v short hair

So I have long hair and my wife hates it. If she lived with me I might consider cutting it but she won't and I won't. I think he's allowed to say he likes long hair. And you're allowed to say this is important to you and you want it short. If you're together, you should hear each other to some degree, but also be flexible if something is important to someone.

She's growing it long. He wants it short.

I would keep your hair how you like it.

Your wife doesn't live with you?? Interesting concept.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 24/10/2022 01:36

When I was younger my mum wouldn't let me get my hair short, I REALLY wanted short hair. 😂

That's an interesting way to spell 'utter disaster' :) She moved out 6 years ago to study, got work where she was. and last Jan announced she can't stand to live with me.

LoekMa · 24/10/2022 04:42

Coercive control. LTB

What

Which bit? My wife hates living with me. I don't agree with a man controlling a woman's body. I do think in both directions, if I didn't want long hair because I play music, I'd cut it short because she likes it, but because I have strong feelings and she hardly sees me, I've left it long. Women should be allowed to do the same things men can do

Catlover1970 · 24/10/2022 04:53

You decide how you want your hair.

In case anyone is confused, I agree. I am merely suggesting if she doesn't CARE how her hair is, she might ask him how he likes it

manova366 · 24/10/2022 05:51

@ThatAussieGuy "if I didn't want long hair because I play music"
Billy Corgan, Bob Mould, Flea, Phil Collins, Peter Garrett, the guy from Live, Sinead O'Connor, Michael Stipe, Billy Joel, Angry Anderson, and Moby (among others) would all like a word.

Angry is a fascist LOL!! I'll give you Peter Garrett, saw them live recently. I play heavy metal and playing or listening, I love the hair in my face.

Angry is indeed a pos.
Metal ay. Rob Halford and Scott Ian want a word!

ShandaLear · 24/10/2022 06:04

You have your hair how you want it. My guess is that it makes you look more feminine and potentially more attractive to other men and he doesn’t like that.

mondaytosunday · 24/10/2022 06:32

Ha usually men like longer hair!
A partner can state a preference like 'I think short hair suits you', but if you decide to try something different that's where it ends.
Only you can decide whether this has become such a battle of wills that there's something else going on that has nothing to do with your hair.

That is more typical. I've chosen my words with care, if he's being controlling that's not cool. I wonder if he wants her to be less attractive to other men?

Michellebops · 24/10/2022 06:39

You're the one who will be washing, drying and styling your hair. It's absolutely 💯 % your choice if you want it long.

Please don't let a man dictate how you should look, you're worth more than that!

SpringIntoChaos · 24/10/2022 07:00

Just tell him to fuck off 🤷‍♀️ I would!

Mabelface · 24/10/2022 07:13

Your hair, your choice, it's as simple as that.

AnnapurnaSanctuary · 24/10/2022 07:13

This is your choice OP. Just keep saying "No, I prefer it long for the moment" every time he mentions it.
