When someone at work bestows a nickname on you would it bother you ?
Nothing inappropriate in my view I am only woman in team most of the guys I work with have a nickname too.
My partner thinks it's 'strange'
He also thought it was odd I told my manager ( male) I had some bleeding and had to go for a scan (early pregnancy) -
He said it was way too much detail to tell a man in his 50s why I need time off
He said ' Anyone would think that's odd'
Opinions ?

Nickname - not bothered, we do it at work too (mainly surname based!) everyone has them. Male or female!

On the other issue, I don't think it's up to your partner to decide what you are or aren't willing to disclose to your manager at work. I personally don't think it's too much detail at all, and if you were comfortable telling him that then it's a total non issue.

Your partner sounds like he's insecure / projecting.
