Hello Mumsnet, this thread popped in to my mind again today and it always puts a smile on my face to reread through the original thread and wonder what might have happened if I never sent that first message!

Updates:
We moved in together. His job completely changed in a post covid world and he is now much more UK based which I obviously love!
We're going away for his birthday next week and I have a sneaky suspicion a ring may be involved..

Hope this update reaches you all and puts a smile on your face like it does for me when I reread it!

This is wonderful to hear. I remember your first thread, but missed the last 2 updates. I'm very glad I went back to read it again. I was Team "What are you waiting for, message him already!"
