Hello wise MN...

I've been with my partner less than a year and despite precautions its happened. we both have children from past relationships. I have just started a new job. I do not know what to do. I am approaching menopause and hadn't ruled out another, but the timing is awful, I wouldn't even get SMP. Everything tells me that I shouldn't go ahead with it, but I'm not sure I could go through with an abortion. DP is supportive of what I decide, but I just don't know. Anyone have any wisdom?

If you don't get SMP you might get maternity allowance, it's 155 a week right from the start, no 90% pay for 6 weeks but it is something , worth looking into

At least you have a bit of time to think, (and can choose the abortion pill if that's your decision).

Personally I'd work under the assumption that the relationship won't work out, since it's relatively new - would you manage on your own? How old are your dc?

Maybe think about how you would feel if it weren't a choice, if you were to miscarry would you be partly relieved or devastated?
