New partner behaviour is a bit odd now - do I run?

I've been seeing this man for about 6 months.

In the last 2 months, we've done a bit of harmless role play. I had never done anything like it before - yawn, I was a nurse! Him a doctor (he really is a doctor, I'm not a nurse).

Next time I was asked to be a lawyer. Strange request. No outfit required. I was asked to pretend he was my 'client'

Tonight he asked me to call him Fred, I made a joke and said 'as in Fred West?'. Very very weird. He said 'maybe '

I pretended then that I was unwell with my monthly's. He seemed a bit put out. I made my excuses and left

Now, he never actually asked anything direct or sinister but I just get a horrible feeling. Would you make a run for it or give him another shot?

He seems nice otherwise. Stable career. Feel a bit bad if I dump him!! And then don't even have a proper reason

Harold Shipman, the doctor from Dr Death series on Netflix (forgot name), I know several doctors in real life that have done questionable things like secretly filming one night stands .

There's someone out there for everyone, just look at Fred and Rose West. But seriously, if it's not for you, and it makes you feel uncomfortable enough to fake period pains and leave, I'd throw this one back in the pool

I think some of these comments are reaching a bit.

I mean the 'maybe' response etc Fred West... He didn't say, "Ew, no way!" When you said it but, equally, you didn't say, "Ew, no way!" When he said maybe. So... 🤷🏻‍♀️ adults do joke and do sometimes say inappropriate things when joking.

However, regardless of what he meant, it's given you a negative feeling about him and that is the important bit.

If someone makes you feel uncomfortable for any reason, that is a good enough reason to stop seeing them

This. Or he didn’t know who Fred west was. Or he thought Fred west was your thing and felt awkward so just said anything. Or maybe he wasn’t really listening.. it was a random thing for you to have come up with. If he had said Fred west first then I’d understand but he didn’t. You did.

fred west didn’t kill lawyers. Your role play wasn’t including torture or young girls. You came up with Fred west- what were you expecting? He’s just probably thought “random but I don’t want to ruin the vibe so let’s just say maybe and get on with the sex”…

I mean in all fairness you were the one who suggested Fred West…..he potentially didn’t even know who Fred West was and said “maybe” because he thought that’s what you’re into. I just told my husband about this thread and he didn’t even know who Fred West was.
