I was sleeping upstairs with my son. He comes upstairs to attic where I am demanding to talk . He’s holding door open not letting me shut it . Forces me to bang it against his foot to try to get him away. He won’t stop insisting I talk to him “ do you think this is mormal? He keeps saying. I’m hyperventilating trying to get the door closed as I’m exhausted and I want him out of my space . I have two kids with autism and am constantly floored with exhaustion and he has always wanted these late night talks shoe years about all the inadequacy of our marriage etc. I’ve had enough. I can hardly breathe I’m so stressed but he keeps blocking me and he’s 6 ft2. I told him I don’t love him and it’s my home ( it is my home) and I want him to go. He’s noisily packing now. My kids will find this so hard o can’t even begin to describe and I feel I e let them down so badly but I man who loves his wife does not block her when she needs space does he forcing her to get more and more upset ?

You did the right thing, he sounds horrible and clearly has no respect for you or your feelings. Divorce him and claim CMS.

How are your finances? Can you afford a babysitter/helper/student/young adult that can help you a few evenings to lighten the load? At first maybe they can cook/do dishes and practical stuff so you have your hands free for the kids. In time the kids might get so used to them that they can maybe help with the routine and put one to bed.

What he pays into account covers just under half what we spend as a family. As the house is mine I cover all repairs etc . None of this has felt fair as I do all the grunt work too.

Monkeyupsidedown I was thinking of getting an aupair. I can’t afford to get anyone otherwise particularly as they ask for more once they know you have 2 with SEN.

Are these his children as well?

Do you have autism too?

It sounds like you work? If so and your kids are in school, an aupair could be a good fit to give you the support you need.

Happywhenitrains7 · 26/09/2022 08:27

Yes his kids. Why are you asking if I have autism please Midlifemusings?

Just to clarify, they are his kids, I don't have autism but both my kids do, I don't work because he encouraged me to stay at home with the kids but I have income through property bought entirely without his help prior to marriage.
