So I met this man walking my dog a year ago . He also has a dog and both our dogs got on so well we decided to start taking them for regular walks together twice a week . We began texting to meet up and then the meet ups turned to late night meet ups which we just let them play together and we would have a beer and talk.

We both developed feelings for each other and as of the other week he said he was falling in love with me and asked me the same question .

It was such a lovely night . Sitting under the stars and talking . The next two days here the same texting all day then when I got home from our usual walk together I had a text off him which read

Hi ..... I have had a long think about our dog walks and they have to stop . It's going too far now and it's not fair on you . I hope you under stand .

I replied and said im sorry if I have done anything wrong and he replied you have done nothing wrong it's just the right time to stop .

I have deleted his number now but I have not been able to stop thinking what he actually means . I won't be texting him again and if he does text me again I won't be replying .

Sounds like he's in a relationship

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/09/2022 16:21

You again? Two threads (that I recall) at the time and this again?

FlissyPaps · 15/09/2022 16:23

You met a year ago and developed feelings. And in that year you’ve only seen him when you’ve been walking your dogs or on a picnic (assuming the dogs were also there). Is that correct?

Because if so, I agree with the majority. He’s married/got a partner/in a relationship.

Did you both ever talk about your living arrangements if you were both single or not? Your OP is not that clear.

If he did say he was single and you’ve been to his house multiple times I would be bamboozled at the text. But if you’ve never been to his or spoke about your personal lives then the text isn’t confusing at all.

Lochjeda · 15/09/2022 16:24

Did you never find it odd that your relationship never progressed passed walking your dogs, even after him saying he was falling in love 🤣

Samarie123 · 15/09/2022 16:24

SergeiL · 15/09/2022 15:51

Where’s OP?

Possibly walking the poor dog again.

Moveoverdarlin · 15/09/2022 16:27

Are you sure that it’s him that’s written that text? It sounds very cold for someone who said they love you. Does it sound like the way he speaks in everyday conversation? Perhaps he has told his partner all about you and wanted to leave his relationship. Maybe she’s intercepted his messages and pinged off that text to you to send you on your way. It seems odd you haven’t discussed your relationship status until now.

JaneyBrowning · 15/09/2022 16:40

Oh, come on @wowjustwow22

There is something missing here from your posts.

Give us the truth!

I think most people on dog walks get round at some point to talking about their lives- their jobs, family, partners?

Did you not?

This is all bit weird.

Stravaig · 15/09/2022 16:40

OP, your post is missing essential information relevant to your question!

Are you single, in a relationship, celibate, and does he know which?

Is he single, in a relationship, celibate, and do you know which?

You say 'we both developed feelings for each other' - what do you mean? What was said, what was done, how could you tell?

When he said he was falling in love with you, and 'asked you the same question', what did you say? Where did the rest of that conversation go?

Fladdermus · 15/09/2022 16:41

His wife's found out.

We began texting to meet up and then the meet ups turned to late night meet ups which we just let them play together and we would have a beer and talk.

So you and this man went to the pub and you never ever knew where he was going at the end of the evening or where he lived even?

Did it never cross your mind to go to his house?
Or wonder why your relationship didn't progress apart from doggy pub-meets?

How can two people say they love each other after a year of doggy walks, yet never have been to each other's homes?

Why have you deleted his number?

Ofcourseshecan · 15/09/2022 16:45

I had a feeling this pair were sneaking into the house when the wife had gone to work?

Dery · 15/09/2022 16:46

“I think you knew he was married or in a relationship .. the - it's going to far now bit .. along with your silence on his relationship status gives it away.”

This.

JaneyBrowning · 15/09/2022 16:47

It was such a lovely night . Sitting under the stars and talking

This sounds like a line from a bad Mills&Boon novel.

And his wife was thinking 'He's on a bloody long dog walk!'

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 15/09/2022 16:48

He's either married or a commitment phobe. Either way you don't want this sort of man in your life.

Unless @DragonflyNights is really @wowjustwow22 and she's trying to find out if her behaviour looked suspicious.

MsBombastic555 · 15/09/2022 16:52

I mean your username says it all. Wow...just wow...what an absolute twat 😂 I would give him hell, he deserves it. You deserve to know wtf he is on about, if you are that bothered about him of course...

BeanyBops · 15/09/2022 16:55

Yes I agree he

Busted!!

😉

BeanyBops · 15/09/2022 17:00

I agree he is probably married, but that in itself doesn't explain all of his behaviour. My interpretation is as follows.

Shitty married man meets woman he finds attractive and uses the dog walks to get close to her (probably has done this before, probably has a script).

Dog walks continue, become emotionally intimate to an extent, and man thinks 'brilliant, she will have sex with me any day now'.

Woman continues walks and does not make a move.

Man gets desperate, throws the L-bomb out there and thinks 'I should definitely get at least a BJ for mentioning the L word'.

Woman does not give man sex or a BJ.

Man gives the woman one more opportunity. Realises he is not going to get casual sex from this, or he will at least have to work a whole lot harder and longer, and thinks 'eff this, I'm going to try someone else'. Man sends silly little break up text.

ItsJustLittleOlMe · 15/09/2022 17:02

Clearly married. The man is liar and I doubt he had feelings. He just wanted an ego boost. You deserve better than this.

LINABE · 15/09/2022 17:08

PineOrange · 15/09/2022 14:05

At least the dog may get a rest now, I bet it's bloody knackered.

😆😆😂

Chocolatesandroses · 15/09/2022 17:09

💯 in a relationship , wanted a bit of fun and now feels it’s going too far so he wants to stop it before things get more complicated .

Noteverybodylives · 15/09/2022 17:10

Are you the same poster who is married and have started a couple of threads on this situation?

Listen OP if he genuinely liked you it would have progressed way past just going on dog walks.

How many times have you been to each other’s homes without the dogs or to restaurants or bars?

PineOrange · 15/09/2022 17:18

I bet I can guess what type of dog you have op
