Hello everyone - I am new to online dating and wondered how these apps like hinge work - are very based on your location? I live in a small town and really don't want people in the area to see my profile and I'd rather meet someone further afield

Any advice appreciated

I don't know about hinge but bumble allows you to pay for premium which allows you to set a 'travel' mode. Meaning you can set the location you are looking in to any that you want.

However, people can search as far afield as possible so if you are in their search radius they may still find you.

If you pay on Bumble you can also select “incognito” mode so that only the people you swipe right on can see your profile
