we went to see the audiologist yesterday and found it was someone we had not seen before - a very nice young lady who was very enthusiastic. She began by asking us whether we minded by being called by our Christian names or preferred ‘Mr and Mrs’. We said Christian names were fine but I added, ‘thank-you for asking.’. Good to see someone with good manners not to assume that of a customer.
