Its been a week now since me and my child had to flee our home due to domestic abuse. We are staying with family but there's no room for us because we have nowhere else to go. I'm still waiting for help from the council but apparently demand is high. I'm just feeling really crappy at the minute and wondering if i even did the right thing in reporting him to the police now me and my son are in this god awful situation through no fault of our own and no idea how long it will go on for.

You did the right thing. I know it seems hard right now but taking your child out of that awful environment is the best thing for them -and you! Living in fear is no life, you have happier days ahead. Hang on in there Flowers

I know it feels awful now but you did the right thing. Domestic Abuse doesn’t get better and you know the damage it could do your LO.
Have you spoken to anyone at Women’s Aid or a local DA support group? They may have access to housing for you.
Life will get better and you and your dc will have a safer future than if you’d stayed. 💐

I did the same thing at the end of June, staying with family just now, had a panic If I had done the right thing a few days after leaving but starting to feel better now.
