Going steady

I have been seeing a guy for a few weeks and it has gone extremely well. He recently said to me he doesn't want to date anyone else, I was his girl but we are not a couple yet. Today he has messaged me and seems to have fallen head over heels for me with lots of things he has said and he said 'now we are going steady'. Does that mean we are now in a relationship? I think he has reflected over the last few days.

He sounds like an idiot tbh. And you know it's not up to him to dictate the status of the relationship that you are allegedly an equal partner in

I think maybe you need to say to him: I’m interested in having an exclusive relationship and seeing where this goes. Lay it on the line. Say what you want.

Are you both 14? If not surely there's no such thing. It's mutual, you just discuss it

I haven't heard the word steady used like this since I was in school. I think that would turn me off of him. lol
