Early 40s, new mum with two very close friends I love to spend time with (individually). Lunch, bit of shopping etc. Always daytime stuff, no drinking just good food and great conversation.
Unfortunately, both of them live a few hours away so we meet up every month or so. I facetime my best friend a couple of times a week etc.
I'd really love to have someone like this local to meet weekly to catch up, child free lunch etc.
Work friends - very nice, send the odd message here and there but we wouldn't meet outside of work.
Mum friends - know from playgroup but only meet up to have a few drinks. Not really my thing as I don't particularly like drinking but go with it as I do like going out to socialise. Again, we're all completley different characters and it all feels very forced and I'm not being my true self as they'd probably think I'm quite boring...
It be quite catty too which I don't want to get involved in. Often feel worried about saying the wrong thing, being judge etc.
Basically, it all seems a bit hardwork to find a good friend who wants to go out for a nice day rather than a night out.
I completely get the attraction of going out and letting loose, I'm obviously a bit boring and love to go out for tea and cake instead!
Anyone else feel the same?
