Hi Mumsnet, here is another online dating question...

I have been messaging a nice looking guy for a couple of weeks and we are talking about meeting up. The other night, when we were chatting on WhatsApp, we got into sharing more photographs of each other. It was good to see more of him and I sent him a few shots of myself. He got a bit flirty and we were joking lots anyway and he then asked for 'skin tight clothing body shot'. I was taken aback! He then joked about how he can't find the photo of him topless on a paddle board. We carried on joking.

Thoughts? I felt a bit ick. Otherwise he has been respectful and I have had fun chatting to him.

I would expect anyone I was talking to online to be able to work out for themselves that someone with my sporting hobbies wouldn't be too overweight for them.

This is a slightly pointless statement if the OP has not stated they are a competitive athlete, if the OP might just state hobbies as going to the theatre or something like that,

Its not actually, because I got those comments too, despite making it clear in my bio and telling men in my opening messages that I was an athlete. Any twat who asks for revealing photos goes in the block bin, and asking for "skin tight clothing" is a sure way to set yourself up for being asked for "sexy pics" or a controlling arsehole. A couple of guys who asked this, I basically told them not to be so stupid, how did they think I ran round a track if I was overweight and spent 6 days a week training, only for them to apologise and then a few messages later ask for more revealing pics. Again. Not my idea of fun.

“As I said to her some people want a curvier girl some want a stick”

So offensive to sticks.

curvey girl sounds lovely, stick sounds sizist and rude. We really don’t need women using this language against sticks.

He doesn’t want to date someone overweight that’s obvious he just wants a shag

Or curvey = fat, stick = Kate Moss

He wants to see how fat/thin you are.

This.

Lots of women try and hide their size on online dating. He's probably just trying not to waste anyone's time. It's a really bad start to a date when all you can think of is that the other person deceived you. There's nothing pervy him asking. Quite the opposite really

No he doesn't want to date someone overweight but if he JUST wanted a shag, he wouldn't ask for the photo, he would just see her the once.

He asked for a bull body pic & people are saying a red flag 😂

I once had a guy ask me for my cup size.

I replied “ grande.”

Or he wants a relationship and long term shagging with someone not overweight?

Why have you been chatting for weeks and not met? Better to meet as soon as.
