Not looking for any advice, just venting at what an idiot I've been again.
Previous threads will give my history. Partner I left 2 years ago has recently had a stroke due to his drug use. I have helped him through this because I felt sorry for him, now he is better and I am ditched. I'm just so mad at myself for being a mug

Don't ever feel bad for being a decent person.

HyggeandTea · 21/08/2022 21:54

Not stupid, just kind. Time to be appreciated though x

babysgotthespends · 21/08/2022 21:57

Agree with pp. Not a mug. Very kind.

Mamato3boysand2dogs · 21/08/2022 22:00

People like him end up alone.

He will get sick again... stroke due to drug use is a big deal. when he does get ill, leave him to deal with it, alone.

You're a caring, kind person, celebrate that, you're as far from a mug as it is possible to be. Xx

I feel like a tosser quoting Socrates but: virtue is it’s own reward.

Desolate2nite · 21/08/2022 22:13

Aww thanks for the kind comments ☺️

You can't change the past OP, it's done now, but you can learn from this pain and not to do it again. You have to be cruel to be kind sometimes x

I'm not sure I understand. Were you hoping to get back together? Did he get in touch because of his stroke? It's not all clear.
