Sorry - another energy post. I'm I'm a quandary, but have you started to get fixed deals on your energy again?

Yes. I fixed with Eon Next as an existing customer a month or so back because Martin Lewis strongly advised it - they and 1 other company I think had fixed offers but only to existing customers - but I just don’t know if it was the right thing or not. Auck
it and see I guess

@mowly77 we are also with EONNext and the tariffs they offered us were way above the flexible variable tariff and at least 100% higher than the tariff we’re already on but is due to end soon. were you offered something cheaper than the variable?!

We were on the variable @BobSacamono as our tariff had run out & couldn’t get a fix around April. Just looked on website. Looks like their one year fix v21 is a huge amount more. Fixed v16 is what I got which is about a third less that the v19 they currently have on offer. It is indeed about a third more than the variable right now but this was to mitigate the possible huge rises in the variable in October & in January. Currently in a bit of credit but we’ll see what happens in winter. You can come off it at any time if Ofgem price cap does not rise as forecast (haha) with no penalties. It was a gamble. We have an average end of terrace 3 bedroom Victorian house. Double glazing but not well insulated by front door or in roof. Need new front door and roof insulation but no money for huge outlays at the moment. Can get really cold downstairs in winter, but we also have a lovely polluting terrible-for-you wood burner.

who knows. We’ll see.
