If your ex never met his dc, did he ever re emerge?

I’ve cut all ties and claimed maintenance. After a lot of heartache I am now settled with someone new, dc is 3. Having spent all pregnancy and maternity wondering and hoping ex would see dc, I’m now so worried he will re emerge and disrupt what we have. I obviously wouldn’t stop him seeing dc but I’d be anxious. He’s in his forties if that makes a difference - still single and obsessed with his career apparently so I’m hoping he’s still very much focused on that.

Obviously if dc ever wanted me to help him get in contact I would, but that would be different and not ex suddenly re emerging if you see what I mean.

Unlikely, I'd say, given his age and career focus.

There's a possibility he might when your son reaches a more 'interesting' age. Or if a parent dies or some other event that triggers it but I'd still say unlikely.

My son is nearly 24 and his father has never seen him. Completely his choice.

Dc might get a letter/email on their 18th, if he still knows the address.
