I’m finding this so gross.
DH got a bit sunburned last week and now his nose and forehead are peeling.
He has taken to peeling the skin off, rolling it into a ball after examining it and then just throwing it over his shoulder onto the floor or sofa 🤢
I’ve asked him not to but he says it’s basically the same as dust, it’s the examining it part that really grosses me out.

Is this a common thing to do?!

I mean, it's totally gross, but I'd probably do the same..... (the peeling and examining, not the chucking in the floor!)

BUT I would do it in secret private.

Throwing it over his shoulder? 😬😂 Tell him to go and buy some aftersun and keep it moisturised instead.

I mean he has form. He does it with scabs too. It’s the peering at it. Urgh.

I think the peeling is very normal & I suppose the rolling, but dropping/flicking it into the floor is gross. Why should anyone have to clear up his dead skin cells?

I agree it's just vile

I used to know a bald bloke with a very flaky dry scalp. If he felt a flake of skin he could peel off he would. His head would then be covered in small bloody scabs.
Disgusting unattractive habit. It’s a wonder he didn’t get a bacterial infection.

I’d probably do it - in private, in the bathroom where the dead bits could go in the loo or the bin.

What’s more concerning is his attitude. He basically, in not so many words, told you to fuck off and he’ll do as he pleases and you can like it or lump it cos he ain’t changing. That attitude would give me more the ick than what he’s actually doing.

I also knew a chap who would fish out something from between his teeth & peer at that before popping it back in his mouth.

When I first met him he did it at a restaurant family meal where he was introduced to my mum for the first time. (Mothers Day)

I couldn’t help but hear her sharp intake of breath (in disgust) & I was mortified.
He’s history now.
