I'll assume he does this during other celebration times Easter Xmas etc, the attentions not on him and doesn't like it.

A show is a good idea but if you want something more low key an evening walk along the river. I love walking over Waterloo Bridde - you could do that and then walk along the South Bank, get some street food and eat it watching the river. If you're into shopping the shops in the West End will be open late I expect - wander up to Oxford St from Piccadilly. Treat yourself FlowersJust enjoy walking and soaking up the atmosphere. Good luck

If you can get tickets for Jack Absolute Flies Again at the National, do.

Go out now and walk along the south bank. Soak up the atmosphere. Enjoy having only yourself to please

If you get as far as the south bank centre, don't miss the singing left on the east side of the building.

Have a look at their what's on. Amazing things.

If nothing appeals, then walk across hungerford bridge (foot ring between Waterloo and Charring Cross) and walk up to Leicester Squares 'half price ticket kiosk' and let fate decide what you see today.

Anything that catches your eye, stop and do it. This is your time. Enjoy.

Lots of fun places to stroll in London, and near the river feels cool on a hot day, eg South Bank.

The museums in South Kensington are always worth a visit, and are probably air conditioned. Science, Natural History, Victoria & Albert (V&A). Also near Hyde Park for a walk.

Have a good time, and to hell with stroppy partner. Hope you’re reconsidering whether you still want to be with him next birthday.
