Husband talks non stop

Anyone else have a partner that talks non stop? Mine has ADHD and just keeps talking at me all day long.

He misses the body language cues and we have talked about me needing more quiet time than him. However he agrees to this and 5 minutes later starts talking again.

Anyone any tips?

Can you leave the room? Put in earphones, turn up Tv, pick up book.

if he understands he does this, just have an agreed phrase you use to remind him. Agree an amount of quiet time and use an alarm/kitchen timer.

Presumably it’s a habit he’s in, so you both need to work on breaking the habit.

Many years ago my husband was a bit like this, but he now watches YouTube videos about his hobby. He then started coming to find me in the house, so he could sit next to me in silence. My problem, is I like being quiet on my own.

You need to create the quiet space by taking yourself away. My eldest had ADHD and talks incessantly. I recently holidayed with parents and realised my dad does too and had always driven my mum insane. She had been reading up on ADHD and it is helping her to live with it knowing he cannot really help himself!!
