Just that. Would the cusp of a city mean I have better prospects do you think?

More chance of meeting someone in a suburb than on Shetland.

Yes, without a doubt living rurally will decrease the pool of potential love interests. Despite what the chick flick novels would have you believe about falling in love with handsome single vets in small villages.

Some people say dating is a number game, and that's true to an extent, but there's also a huge element of luck involved, the ideal partner is just as likely to be living rurally.

How rural are we talking ? A 20 minute drive out of town or an island with a twice a day ferry?

Are your interests rural? Do you like being outside, walking, country pubs, village life etc. are you likely to want to settle there long term?

@MrsMontyD is an hour and a fifteen from
major cites and around 30 mins from

And yes prefer being outdoors but do enjoy city life - pizzas on tap and ubers everywhere!
