My partners family always laugh at my feet and it’s given me a complex no1 else has really mentioned it just them…. My family say there is nothing wrong with my feet. Anyway today I sent a picture of my daughter who is 1 trying to walk but my foot was in it and now they have been forwarding the picture on with my foot circled. And sent back some pictures of really horrible feet to me. So I deleted the picture from the group. I feel upset by it I would never make personal comments about them or laugh at them behind there back.

I don't think you're feeling petty, I'd definitely feel upset about this too! Maybe your partner could have a quiet word with them and explain you don't like it?

Sometimes people 'banter' each other and not realise it's causing offence so it definitely needs to be explained to them and hopefully they will stop! D

CoffeeBeansGalore · 01/08/2022 18:58

That's horrible of them. Totally unnecessary. If feeling petty could you start doing it back, pointing out double chins/big ears/overhanging belly?

Or you simply take the higher ground & ignore them. If anything is said to your face, "that's rude & hurtful. I don't point out your xyx". Have less interaction with them. Less stressful.

Michellelovesizzy · 01/08/2022 19:03

Noooo I couldn’t start pointing out there imperfections it wouldn’t be funny… and I just wouldn’t do it. They have said it to my face 2 I try to laugh it off. But it’s quite hurtful. I am going on holiday next week 2 and don’t want to wear my filp flops and Lool I feel so petty shall I post a pic of the offending foot😂

They sound petty not you I'm sure there's nothing wrong with your feet!

thefirstmrsrochester · 01/08/2022 19:05

Even if your feet look like Frodo’s, they still shouldn’t be commenting and mocking. Just juvenile and nasty.

Michellelovesizzy · 01/08/2022 19:08

That’s the foot

NightMaryEllen · 01/08/2022 19:08

Can you post a picture of your partner's family so we can all mock their imperfections. Cunts

SidSparrow · 01/08/2022 19:14

Just say the joke is old and it wasn't very funny to begin with because actually it's cruel. I'd also ask them to drop it because you don't want your child to think that bullying is acceptable. When they say oh it's only a bit of fun, that's when you plainly tell them that it's at your expense and you're sick of it and you don't want to hear it again. You don't have to be rude or polite, just be matter of fact.

LaTangerina · 01/08/2022 19:15

Ok it kinda looks like your foot I'd deliberately in the picture like its the focus, do they have form for taking the pics out of others usually? They might think they're being amusing & be completely oblivious.

LaTangerina · 01/08/2022 19:15

*Is not I'd

LaTangerina · 01/08/2022 19:16

And piss not pics 🤣

Amazongirl9 · 01/08/2022 19:18

What do they think is wrong with your foot? Looks quite a normal shape and size to me.

Dramaqueenbee · 01/08/2022 19:19

I have a similar situation with a friends husband who constantly “banters” about my appearance.( usually clothing) also calls my feet large and is personal about my clothing choices . I’m at the point of saying something quietly to his wife in her ear but am not sure how it will be received ie I’m being too sensitive. Your feet are absolutely fine OP. Can’t understand what people get out of doing this …….

Nooo they make horrible comments about my feet all the time it’s not the first time. I sent it to a group chat and some1 has circulated my foot and forward the photo on to her partner who has sent me the pic and laughing faces and pictures of really horrible feet

They sound tedious. I think maybe they've picked up they've hit a nerve with you if they keep doing it.
They don't sound nice at all, completely immature.
Have you told your partner it bothers you?
Don't laugh it off anymore its verging on bullying.

Canabelievethis · 01/08/2022 19:24

Your foot looks fine... take no notice. Rise above them. Silence the dignified response.

LaTangerina · 01/08/2022 19:24

BTW your feet are completely normal they're being arseholes.

Michellelovesizzy · 01/08/2022 19:26

No I have never really said it my partner because I have always felt petty. But now talking to mumsnet I am gonna say somthing next time it’s said

Definitely tell him, they shouldn't be making fun of you x

ladydimitrescu · 01/08/2022 19:28

They're dickheads, nothing wrong with your feet at all

orbitalcrisis · 01/08/2022 19:35

There's nothing wrong with your feet, they're doing it because they think it is funny and they know it's getting to you. I'd ask them too stop as you've never brought up that family member with the micropenis or time one of them lost control of their bowels in public...

Yeah I think that’s what upsets me the most is that they no it upsets me and that’s y they do it.

They sound pretty awful, I'd spend as little time interacting with them as possible.

You could try things like saying to them that you'd never point out their imperfections, while pointing at them, narrow your eyes, stare for a second or two, then shake your head and walk away... Tell them to pack it in as it's just not funny anymore and they're making it very hard to like them or join in! If it's not getting to you anymore they'll lose interest.

SlickShady · 01/08/2022 19:57

There's nothing wrong with your foot, it's a perfectly decent foot, and even if there was, you'd have to be an utter twat to mock other people's appearances. Not to mention doing it constantly.

That said, I'm not sure why you would send a cute pic of your kid with a foot in it. Surely you're familiar with 'crop'?
